What you will get

is access to a compendium of tools and resources.  Here's a little taste:

  • Stress Reduction

Max's prerogative is helping you to learn about what makes you tick.  You will develop a new understanding of what stress is for you and how to manage it.

  • Accountability and Goal Setting

It's hard to stay focused when your path forward seems confusing and out of reach.  Weekly check-ins will help you stay on track.

  • Nourishment

Your body, mind, and spirit need nourishment.  It comes in many forms and you will learn the basics of nutrition and how that nutrition effects all three.

  • Introspection and Insight

It is not enough to know there are tools and resources at your fingertips.  You will also learn how to use them and expand your self-care portfolio​​​.

  • Tailored Guidance

You worked hard your entire life and you've seen some things, but where do you want to go?

Max will provide coaching based on your current state and the goals you set for your future.​

Everything you do is a result of past experiences.  Will you keep doing the same things and expect different results, or will you do something new to ensure your success?​

  • Movin' and Groovin'

Walking a milein someone else's shoes is a trite cliché, and yet, how can you do it if you don't first know how to walk a mile in your own shoes? Max will help you develop a mindful practice of play so you can enjoy the world moving in your favorite pair.

  • Virtual and In-Person

Your comfort levels in social situations are changing on a weekly basis.  You and Max will have a conversation to discuss your needs for virtual or in-person participation for coaching, workshops, and movement classes.

  • Personalized Learning Experience

Designed as a hybrid learning experience which will take you from behind the desk to the great classroom outdoors. 

What you will NOT get

is a lot of fluff.

  • Stress

The last thing you need is more of it.  SANITY is designed to keep things simple and keep you feeling excited to learn!

  • Another digital dust collector

Everyone learns differently.  Some are auditory learners while others need so see it in black-and-white.  Worksheets are available and will be provided if that is how you learn best - otherwise, you will not get another digital dust collector.

  • Non-sequiturs

The information provided here is curated to ensure everything is built on each other so you can clearly follow how it's all connected.

  • INTENSITY

This is about creating a sustainable and resilient self-care tool box, not about emotionally beating you up or making you feel unworthy.  

  • Too much

We live in a world of information overload. The intention is to keep your experience light and simple so you can feel confident in your learning

  • Yo-yo-ing

Some leadership and personal development programs will break you down​, and before they build you up, they tell you it will cost more money.  You will not experience that in The Hive.

  • More of the same

You can ask one hundred people to define "health" and you will get one hundred different answers.  I have taken the time to incorporate a functional-vocabulary so you can clearly understand the many definitions used by others. 

  • Very Unprofessional

Consent is key and there is no place in The Hive where I will make demands of you which you and I haven't previously talked about. You and I will work together to ensure our professional relationship is established with healthy boundaries. 

  • Posturing

While a significant part of the MVP program is posture-based, there will not be any posturing on my behalf.  I am a lifelong learner and my goal is to help you explore movement in the safest and most sustainable ways I know.

Why I'm the teacher for you

Helping you succeed and setting the stage so you can shine is a passion of mine.  I have spent years volunteering, mentoring, and facilitating community activities so you, and people like you, can learn and grow.

Why? 

 

Because I had habits which did not serve me.  I know how hard it is to watch a loved one neglect their health, and how much harder it is to watch myself neglect my health and not know what to do about it.  I know how quickly burnout sneaks up into your life bringing feelings of exhaustion and desperation.

Because I know what it is like to not have someone in my corner who was willing to get in the trenches with me.

I uncovered what works for MY life and my dream is for YOU to be a confident advocate for YOUR health!

  • Not knowing where to start, so you put it off, and put it off, and put it off, and before you know it, a year has passed and your unhealthier and more unsure of yourself than you were before.

  • The information you hear confuses you and overwhelms you, making you want to quit before you even get started.

  • Sabotaging your progress at every turn because you don't have a support system in place.​​

I've been where you are!

Life tends to life you right when you least expect it, especially when it comes to your health.  I also know how frustrating it can be to filter through all the confusing and conflicting information about "being healthy" or having a "healthy lifestyle".   

Everyone talks about health in a different way. 

Why can't we talk about health so the concepts and plans are easily understandable? 

I believe they can be!  With a clear understanding of what health is you can develop a sustainable foundation of wellness and be ready for life before it lifes you when you aren't looking.
